22 Brattle Street
Workflow worked alongside the design team at Dyer Brown to furnish a coworking-style office environment that would cater to the client; a research-focused, student-powered global nonprofit organization. Housed in a historic building in Harvard Square with unique architecture, 20 Brattle Street was designed to respect the history of the area while reflecting shifts in trends shaping the workplace today. A key goal was to cater to today's workforce to attract future talent. This was in part achieved by creating neighborhoods for users that provide a variety of environments to support users changing needs. The 16,000 SF suite further realizes this goal through a large cafe that doubles as a multifunctional social space while also providing many different types of quiet spaces for focus and heads-down work. Challenged to adhere to a near-vegan and low or zero VOC criterion with material selection, the design team respected this guiding principle through the whole furniture specification process, from product to finish selection.
